Today in exactly five months time, I’ll be standing on the beach saying ‘I do’ to the love of my life. I can hardly believe it’s so soon! Given my control freak tendencies and obsession with minor details, I always thought I’d be an absolute raging Bridezilla, but during our engagement I’ve found that I’ve been the complete opposite. I’ve been far too relaxed about the wedding up until this point and even though I have been pinning up a storm and saving inspirational images to my desktop, we haven’t even started on our ‘Save the Dates’ (essential when you’re having a destination wedding, like ours) or invitations. But upon realising that our big day is in five months time, we’ve finally started making headway and we’re in the process of drawing up a guest list (an incredibly difficult task when you’ve opted for a small, intimate ceremony as we’ve done) and my fiancé is designing our wedding stationery as I type (the joys of marrying an artist!).
We want a low-key, relaxed ‘garden party’ feel for our wedding – think paper lanterns and twinkly fairy lights hanging from the trees, platters of delicious, homemade food and a gathering of family and close friends and you’re on the right track.
