Love your skin with good ol’ Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (Plus a giveaway – CLOSED)

Love your skin with good ol’ Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (Plus a giveaway – CLOSED)

I’m dedicating this post to a little tub of goodness that we all know, love and use religiously. Yep, you guessed it: today’s post focuses on good ol’ Vaseline Blue Seal Petroleum Jelly and all it’s many wonderful uses.

As winter draws to a close, I think it’s safe to say that most of us have a tub of Vaseline Blue Seal Petroleum Jelly lurking beside our beds. I for one would not have been able to survive the cold winter months without it; there’s simply no better cure for dry, chapped lips or very thirsty skin.  It’s a classic multi-tasker that works from top-to-toe, taming frizz and flyaways and healing dry, cracked heels literally overnight.

This best-loved skin protecting ointment not only works to soothe dry, cracked or irritated skin, it also creates a protective barrier to help shield your skin against harsh winter weather, while helping to lock in moisture.

I’m a big fan of the original Vaseline Blue Seal Petroleum Jelly, which has absolutely no fragrance and leaves an invisible barrier on the skin. That said, I’ve recently fallen head over heels (literally – I love smearing it onto my feet every night before bedtime) for Vaseline Blue Seal Rich Conditioning Jelly in Cocoa Butter. This super-rich and nourishing formula has a deliciously chocolatey scent, and the extra dose of moisture is ideal for use on dry elbows, knees and feet.

While the rich Cocoa Butter formula is the ideal winter-time skin saviour, I think that Vaseline Blue Seal Light Hydrating Jelly in Aloe Fresh is just perfect for use in summer. Apart from the fresh aloe scent, the light formulation simply melts into your skin and is great for those who are looking for a formula that’s a little less greasy than the original Vaseline. I use this fast-absorbing formulation on Beanie all the time – it’s great for soothing minor cuts and skin irritations, and it’s gentle enough to use on his little nose when he has a cold. I also use it on my legs before or after shaving – it’s great for soothing any redness or irritation.

And if your man is a fan of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, he’ll definitely love Vaseline Blue Seal Petroleum Jelly for Men. It has an absolutely scrummy, manly scent and it feels much thicker and richer than the other variants, which is a good thing considering just how dry men’s skins can get. It’s incredibly soothing on the skin, so again, it’s great for use after shaving. My husband often gets from little dry patches around his nose and on his forehead, and this is the only thing that helps. I personally love using this variant as well, for the simple fact that I just can’t get enough of the scent. If you’re a fan of masculine scents and you’re often tempted to steal your man’s fragrances (like I am), you’ll enjoy this one too.

There are so many fantastic skin benefits and every day uses for Vaseline, so I’ve put together a little video sharing 15 of my personal favourites, which I’ll be posting tomorrow so be sure to check back then to find out more. In the meantime, I’ve got a lovely little giveaway just for you…

This winter Vaseline Blue Seal really saved my hands, my hands get so dry during winter and I suffer, but not this year because I used Vaseline every day and had no problems this year!

  • Tracy Jacobs

I use Vaseline on my lips and heels, my husband tames his moustache with it 😂

  • Carolyn Augustus

I use it on my feet as a mask by applying a nice thick layer of Vaseline and then covering it up with warm fluffy socks to seal in the moisture.

  • Kathryn

I use vaseline on my lips. I also put it on my nails at night 🙂

  • Bianca Balutto

I use vaseline over my eyebrows when waxing this prevents the wax from sticking onto the parts that I don’t want removed.

  • Nats Govender

I’m very accident prone and always end up bruising my skin, I always use Vaseline over my bruises when I shower so that they don’t burn anymore. Also use it for day to day stuff 🙂

  • I use it on my eyelashes when removing my makeup to remove the mascara

Just watched your video – thanks! Love the nail polish bottle trick, must try that! I love vaseline too and have a tub somewhere nearby always. I use it when I colour my hair to make sure my skin doesn’t stain, it’s a lifesaver for dry winter lips, cracked heels and dry elbows. My favourite treat to give my feet a huge boost, is to rub a generous amount of vaseline into them and cover them with socks for the night. The next morning, voila – perfectly smooth and glowing feet like a baby!

  • Cherice Landers

It’s my go to for dry lips, especially in the winter months. I also use it as a ‘cuticle oil’ and as a moisturizer around my eyes before I go to bed, to keep those fine lines away for a while lol 🙂

Vaseline is great for taming fly aways (hair). As a struggling student back in the day, I used it. It was a tip from a hairdressing friend.
