I’ve never been big on wearing jewellery, preferring simpler, more meaningful pieces over big, bold statement pieces, so when I first spotted local jeweller, Janine Binneman Jewellery Design’s stunning kids’ drawings jewellery pieces, I knew I had to have one.
Beanie definitely got his dad’s artistic genes, as he can easily spend hours drawing any and everything, from the people in his life, our pets, and – his favourite – robots in different shapes and sizes. When I ordered this necklace, he’d just fallen in love with drawing (he’d just turned 3) and his pictures were still pretty basic. They’ve evolved quite a bit since and they’re so incredibly detailed these days, so I’m definitely planning on getting another piece in the near future… Christmas, perhaps?
I asked Beanie to draw a picture of me (and no, that’s not a baby in my tummy – they’re my apparently very saggy boobs), then sent the image through to Janine, who created the most beautiful pendant for me.
I absolutely love my beautiful necklace and I get comments on it wherever I go; along with my wedding band, it’s become one of my most treasured pieces of jewellery, and I hardly ever take it off. Beanie’s also pretty chuffed with himself and loves showing people his creation and bragging about the fact that he’s a “jewly designer” – so cute!
Ordering your very own masterpiece couldn’t be simpler: just upload your child’s drawing to the Janine Binneman Jewellery Design website, here, then select your chosen piece (there are several options to choose from, including a pendant, a bracelet, and cufflinks to name just a few), and the Janine Binneman team will send you a quote. Head over to the website to see some more examples – they’re absolutely gorgeous, and they make the best gifts.
Janine Binneman Jewellery Design has fast become my favourite local jeweller – every time she posts to social media, I have to add a new item to my Christmas wish list. From the most beautiful name rings to the special semi-colon necklace that’s very close to my heart, I want them all! The best bit? Her prices are amazing and surprisingly affordable, so I can actually own all the pieces on my wish list! Love that!
