Lipidol

Win a Lipidol hamper worth R1200… because every mama deserves a spoil!

As a mama, finding time for yourself can be difficult to do, so little pleasures that you once took for granted become the ultimate treats. Little things, like soaking in the tub for 10 minutes at the end of a long day or moisturising your skin using a luxurious body oil, become a real indulgence.

One of my favourite ways to unwind is to take a quick shower using some of my favourite washes and cleansers, before pulling on my robe, slapping on a face mask, and giving myself a DIY manicure and pedicure while catching up on my favourite series or watching a movie with my husband. That said, I don’t feel as though I get the chance to do this nearly as often as I’d like to (although I like to do this most Sunday evenings to help me prepare for the week ahead), and I know I’m not the only one who struggles to carve out a little ‘me-time’. With that in mind, I jumped at the chance to offer my readers the chance to win this beautiful hamper packed full of pampering treats from Lipidol… I can’t help you to find an extra hour in your day, but I can help spread the love by sending one lucky reader some gorgeous goodies from local skincare brand, Lipidol!

Lipidol

Lipidol Cleansing Face Oil (R89,95)

This is the first Lipidol product I ever used, and it’s what turned me onto the range. I’ve always stayed clear of facial oils and oil-based products as I’ve struggled with breakouts for most of my life, and I always believed that using an oil on my skin would only exacerbate the problem. Not so. Since oil attracts oil, it’s actually the best thing to use on your skin to help remove excess sebum and to prevent further breakouts. I’ve certainly found this to be true, and I love the silky texture of this facial oil and how it removes even the most stubborn of makeup in a flash.

Lipidol Overnight Face Oil (R89,95)

This Overnight Face Oil is an absolute dream for thirsty, dehydrated skin. It’s a rich ,nourishing oil that’s yellow in colour – but don’t panic! All of Lipidol’s products have been coloured using natural plant extracts, so you can rest assured that you aren’t smearing any harmful toxins onto your skin. I usually apply a couple of drops of the Overnight Face Oil to my fingertips before massaging into my skin right before bedtime. My parched skin laps it up, and my skin always looks a whole lot more radiant the following morning. A little goes a long way when using this product, and I’ve still got my 50ml bottle on the go (and I started using it in December, during the frantic festive season – I obviously don’t use it every night, but still. It’s lasted a good 6 months with plenty more to go!) The Overnight Facial Oil – like all Lipidol’s products – is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.

Lipidol After Shave Oil (R89,95)

I absolutely adore the smell of this oil! Thankfully, all Lipidol’s oils are fragranced using essential oils – so no need to worry about any nasties. In fact, all Lipidol’s products have been independently tested and have been proven to be safe for use on even the most sensitive skins. My husband has used this occasionally (he usually has a beard, but he uses this oil – and this oil alone – when he does shave), but I use it after shaving my legs after every single shave. It leaves my legs feeling soft and smooth, and helps to soothe any redness or rashes caused by shaving.

Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil (R89,95)

This is one of my favourite new discoveries! It’s the only Lipidol product I hadn’t tried before writing this post, so I immediately put it to the test – and I regret not trying it sooner! It boasts such a refreshing scent and the luxurious, silky texture is such a treat to use. It creates a beautifully soft lather that gently cleans my skin without stripping it of it’s natural oils. And did I mention the smell?! So divine!

TIP: I’ve been using my Lipidol Cleansing Body to shave my legs – I apply it to my wet legs before shaving (as a shaving oil or sorts), and it leaves my legs feeling ridiculously soft and smooth.

Lipidol

Lipidol After Shower Oil (R89,95)

And what good would a range of skincare oils be without a simple and effective body oil? I love everything about this fuss-free body oil: the easily-absorbed texture, the lack of any sort of scent (no interfering with my favourite fragrance, then!), and the fact that it gently nourishes my skin without leaving my skin feeling overly oil or sticky. I like to apply it to damp skin the minute I’ve hopped out of the shower, so it can help lock in moisture. The perfect winter skincare buddy!

Lipidol Sunscreen Oil SPF20 (R89,95)

Now I’ll admit that – although I have a bottle of this Sunscreen Oil – I haven’t put it to the test nearly as much as I’d like to. I haven’t spent much time in the sun in recent months (and when I do, I prefer not to tan and like to stick to shady areas), but I do like to apply this oil to my legs to help protect them from the damaging UV rays – while imparting a sexy sheen at the same time. Again, it isn’t overly oily (I was concerned about using an oil on the beach, but I needn’t have been – it absorbs into the skin really quickly) and it leaves my skin feeling well nourished while protecting it at the same time. Win!

Lipidol

How would you like the opportunity to test all of the products within the Lipidol range? Lucky for you, I’ve got the whole lot up for grabs – along with a handy, transparent toiletry bag and the most luxurious 100% cotton bath robe. Time to get your pamper on! But first…

Relaxing in Winter is the best. Cosy blanket, tea and movies or maybe a good book. followed by afternoon nap. Absolute Bliss!

  • Janel Sunderlall

I am a stay at home mum which is absolutely exhausting. When I do get some time to relax I love watching dvds or just taking a nap. That is how I unwind☺

  • Carolyn Augustus

I just snuggle up in bed alone binge watching my favourite series

  • Shaheeda Loofer

I love to watch a series back to back..my absolute favourite past time

  • Riette

If I have a chunk of time I enjoy reading something on my very long ‘must read before I die’ reading list. Otherwise it’s catching up on series and documentaries. Snacks and wine with both options!

  • Dhanusha

I watch series all the time so to wind down I like having a bath bomb bath with wine but ofcourse with water restrictions I haven’t done that in a while. So wine and series are perfect.

  • Nicola Meyer

It depends how I feel. Some days it’s back to back series, other days a book or even some papercraft

  • Jill Visser

My little one is only three and a half months old and in that time I haven’t had much downtime. Before she was born I’d sit outside with a (warm) cup of coffee and whatever crochet project I was busy with. Working each stitch made me focus on my hands and empty my brain of all the stress. The best part? I’d have something to show for my downtime and my coffee wouldn’t be cold before the end of the cup!

  • Pj

I love to binge watch my favourite series or to listen to audiobooks 🙂

  • Chantelle Coombes

Down time… mmm what’s that? Generally it will be catching up sleep, but lately i’ve been binge watching series. ❤️

  • I’m a HUGE fan of self love and value it even more now that I’m a mom..and nearly a mom to 2 🙂 I LOVE my running, and this for me is what really rejuvenates me but in saying that, I stopped running at 11 weeks preggers so currently its a monthly massage <3

  • Nicola

I love doing yoga, reading, a cheesy girly series and a glass of wine!

  • Helena

I’ve started to enjoy a long soak in the bath with bubbles (though water restrictions make this difficult!), but wine always features in my down time 🙂

  • Liesl

I get into bed with a good book and maybe a sweet treat.

  • Cornell

I love to spend my very limited down time by colouring in or reading my fave magazines!

  • I could definitely watch series all day or soak in a tub to unwind but actually I spend my downtime with my earphones in sorting and cleaning, organising and preparing. I love the feeling of being “on top of it” whatever the it is and the feeling of winning a small battle and accomplishing something definitely makes me relax a lot more than doing nothing and watching reality shows all day 🙂

  • Zoleka Ngqebe

On a cold winter day I enjoy my fuzzy pj’s all day. I make bottomless cups of hot chocolate and eat my chocolate muffins while catching up on blogs and online shopping.

  • Chloe O’Doherty

Crazy hard to carve me time with a toddler but my favourite way to spoil myself is to book a workshop (ring making, screen printing etc…) and then look forward to it for weeks! Doing crafts really relaxes me and makes me feel sane again. PS: really want to try the SPF 20 oil.

  • Ayesha

Coffee. Binge watching series. Reading a book and then a good sleep in.

  • Tanya Steyn

A glass of wine, Pinterest, your blog, series, a hot bath with a Lush bath bomb. All I need is a robe and some skincare to top it off 🙂

  • A bowl of fresh, lightly salted popcorn (popped old school on the stove), a cup of tea or wine depending on the time, a book and comfy jammies!

  • Henriette

Actual down time is a bit rare with my 19 month old 😉 Mostly I enjoy catching up on series, magazines and blogs I follow. If I’m making a night of it I’ll run a bath and do a proper beauty session with a hair and face mask.

  • Jessica Schoeman

I love using my time to do yoga and pilate’s, soaking in a hot bath for an hour, and just staring at the mountain with a mug of tea 🙂 I tweeted

  • Lynnith Andreou

Hi there! I love to spend my down time, which ia a rare occurrence these days, sitting in my garden, listening to the birds and sipping on a good coffee, and generally enjoy staring into space, or have a little daydream, lol
