Festivities taking a toll on your skin? Eucerin to the rescue!

Festivities taking a toll on your skin? Eucerin to the rescue!

Thank goodness for Eucerin! It seems that, regardless of what skincare concern I’m currently faced with, Eucerin has a product to treat it. It’s no secret that I’ve always struggled with hormonal breakouts, and this time of year always seems to make it worse.

I don’t know whether it’s my poor eating habits or the fact that I’ve been working non-stop to try and get on top of things, but my skin is not happy. Gone is the clear, glowing complexion I flaunted just two or three weeks ago, only to be replaced by angry breakouts and a rather dull and lacklustre appearance. Whenever my skin starts to act up, I turn to Eucerin’s DermoPURIFYER Oil Control range to help soothe and calm my inflamed skin, while decongesting pores and slowing down the production of excess sebum.

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER

I’ve used the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Oil Control Scrub (R149,99) on and off for years, as and when my skin most needs it. The oil-free formula contains lactic acid and fine micro-particles that help to clear the gunk out of your pores while removing any dead skin cells at the same time. Not only will it help reduce breakouts, it will also leave your skin looking brighter and more radiant.

I know just how tempting it can be to scrub your skin almost daily – especially when you’re battling a particularly bad breakout – but the gentler approach is always best. Eucerin’s DermoPURIFYER Oil Control Scrub is very gentle, so it won’t strip your skin or damage your skin’s natural barrier function, but it’s better to stick to scrubbing your skin just once (maybe twice) a week.

I’ve also been using the new Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Oil Control Mattifying Fluid (R199,99) every morning and evening to help soothe and treat any spots or blemishes, and to reduce shine. It contains salicylic acid to help reduce existing spots and to prevent new ones from cropping up, while an ingredient called Licochalcone soothes any irritation and inflammation, and reduces redness. I find that it really does help my skin to look less red and angry, and after just a couple of weeks of using this moisturiser, I’ve found that persistent, angry spots are a lot less obvious.

True to it’s name, the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Oil Control Mattifying Fluid contains mattifying particles that promise to keep shine at bay for up to eight hours, so it’s a great pick for use during the summer months. I also find that it’s the perfect canvas for my foundation – no primer needed! One thing to remember is to apply a separate broad-spectrum sunscreen after you’ve applied the Mattifying Fluid, since this product doesn’t contain a built-in SPF.

My worst habit is not taking my makeup off at bedtime x

  • Henriette

Ugh I’m also a culprit for not always removing my makeup at night 🙈

  • Bianca Balutto

I pick at my pimples and they leave behind marks 🙁

  • Riette

I am in the too-tired-to-take-off-my-makeup club!

  • Adele

Oh yes most definitely going to sleep with makeup on! Generally just way to tired to bother… one of my new years resolutions

Not wearing Sunscreen every day, I forget sometimes 😣

Really bad but over analyzing my skin and trying to scrub every single spot I have off. Close up mirrors are horrible! And the worst to continuously touch the spots. Trying to learn to not overthink( and touch) my skin. 😉 would love to try this range to help my skin!

My absolute worst habit is not taking off my makeup before bed!

I hate to admit it, but I have a really bad habit of picking at my skin and stripping it of it’s natural oils expecting it to clear up. For some reason I have this preconceived idea that I basically need to beat my skin into submission to stop it from breaking out (needless to say, it never ends well)…

I too pick at spots :/ I’ve been really good at remembering to take off makeup though. If I didn’t have spots though there wouldn’t be anything to pick at 😛 been having a difficult time with them after changing birth control

Im the actual worst! As a mom of 3, im often so tired at night i go to sleep with remnants of old make up still on my face. If im in a rush i tend to wash my face with bar soap which is so drying but its such a bad habit and one i really need to break! i also tend to constantly pick at spots or squeeze pimples when i know i shouldn’t, then i end up with red, blotchy and irritated skin. Im sure my skin hates me 🙁

Oh My only 1. I (forget) to take off my make-up, actually I’m just lazy. I don’t pick at pimples I pretty much dig until i’m satisfied that I’ve gotten something out. I sometimes forget to put sunscreen on over weekends.
I think those are enough (eek)

  • Tammy Part

I have a bad habit of not removing my make-up, just pure laziness 🙈

  • Taryn Spark

Using harsh products on my face in an attempt to prevent breakouts. And picking my spots 🙈

  • Carolyn Augustus

Definitely picking at spots, I simply can’t resist

  • Carla M Van Der Westhuizen

Ugh I do all the typical skincare faux pas! I pick my spots, I always forget to take my makeup off before bed! But one think I do is I pick at my mascara 🙁 its leaves my nails all dirty and half my eyelashes come out while I am doing it. It is a very bad habit!

    Not wearing sunscreen🙈

  • Lata Balraj

I forget to put sunscreen most days 😢

okay pretty disgusting but popping my pimples and forgetting to taking off my make up most nights, having a four year old and a 10 month old by the time there asleep i am finished so make-up stays on

This is embarrassing but I tend to often fall asleep without taking off my make up, I am a single mommy and often feel so exhausted I fall asleep on the couch with make up on. And in the morning I realise it….to late sob sob sob
