Help your skin help itself with the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler range

If you’re anything like me, you may have been led to believe that expensive skincare products are your best chance at achieving visible, long-lasting results. Well, I’m here to tell you otherwise – and to share my latest beauty find: the incredible NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler range.

Now, before you start thinking that you’ve gone mad or are suffering a bout of deja vu, this isn’t a new launch from NIVEA, but their most advanced anti-ageing skincare range has undergone a bit of a makeover with a brand-new name and a sleek packaging update. I think the new packaging is absolutely stunning – I love that the day cream comes in a white tub and the night cream comes in a dark blue tub for ease of reference (white for day, blue for night), and I’m also thrilled that the serum comes in a pump bottle to help preserve the effectiveness of its active ingredients.

Speaking of which, the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler range boasts some of the best wrinkle-busting ingredients in the business, namely hyaluronic acid and magnolia extract. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that acts as a moisture magnet, drawing as much moisture as possible into your skin cells for a plumper, more hydrated skin. When your skin is hydrated, fine lines and wrinkles appear less noticeable, so it’s the ideal ingredient for those who are determined to stop lines in their tracks. It also brightens your complexion and helps to fight free radicals, so it’s a great ingredient to treat all aspects of skin ageing – whether you’re concerned with wrinkles, an uneven skin tone, or even sagging.

Magnolia extract is an ingredient I wasn’t too familiar with, but after looking into its benefits, I’m sold! Traditionally used as a herbal remedy for treating the stagnation of energy (or ‘qi’), I’m not surprised to find that it’s become a go-to ingredient for reversing the signs of ageing and giving your skin new life. Not only does it prevent loss of elasticity and reduce redness, it’s also hailed as one of the most potent anti-wrinkle ingredients tested at NIVEA so far. It’s no wonder that this scientifically-proven formulation really delivers on its claims! I’ve been putting the full range to the test and I’m already impressed with how effective the products are – not to mention how lovely they feel and smell!

The hero product for me is the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Anti-Age Serum (R250), a lightweight serum that sinks into the skin quickly and easily, leaving it feeling smooth and supple. The scientifically-proven formulation repairs fine lines and wrinkles, reduces redness and inflammation, and fights signs of fatigue – making it ideal for busy, time-starved women everywhere!

I apply two pumps over my entire face and neck both morning and night, after cleansing and before my day or night creams.

Confession time: I’m really bad when it comes to using an eye cream and I rarely use one, but I’ve been using the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Anti-Age Eye Cream (R250) religiously – both morning and night – for about 10 days, and I’ve noticed a marked improvement already. The delicate under-eye area is brighter, and I’ve noticed that there are fewer visible fine lines. (Many fine lines are a sign of dehydration and a lack of moisture, so try upping your water intake and using a product with hyaluronic acid – like this eye cream – for immediate results).

My past avoidance of eye creams is largely down to the fact that my eyes are quite sensitive and most eye creams result in stinging or puffiness (or both), but the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Eye Cream has been ophthalmologically tested, making it safe to use on sensitive eyes.

As someone who battles with pigmentation, I really appreciate the fact that the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Day Cream SPF15 (R250) boasts broad-spectrum sun protection to help protect your skin against photo-ageing caused by the sun. (It may not be high enough for a day spent in full sunlight, but it’s ideal for use in winter and on days spent behind your desk). This moisturiser is incredibly lightweight and is immediately absorbed into the skin, without a hint of stickiness or oiliness. It sits really well underneath my foundation, and leaves my skin feeling well-nourished and supple, despite the changing climates its been subject to lately. (First Johannesburg’s dry winter, followed by icy temperatures in Kimberley, then the Cape’s drizzly weather!)

The NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler Night Cream (R250) is an absolute dream to use. Even though it boasts a nourishing formulation, it hasn’t led to any breakouts – something that happens frequently when I try anti-ageing night creams. I’ve found that other anti-ageing night creams are too rich for my skin, but this is the first anti-ageing night cream I’ve been able to use, without any adverse side effects. It feels really comfortable on the skin and works overnight to tackle fine lines and wrinkles, all the while boosting your skin’s radiance for a fresh, glowing complexion upon waking.

But the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler range does so much more than simply target existing signs of ageing; the advanced formulation stimulates skin cells to produce their own hyaluronic acid and collagen, working deep within the skin to activate the power of your own skin cells. In a way, the NIVEA Hyaluron Cellular Filler range teaches your skin to repair itself for a more youthful appearance as time goes on… now what could be better than that?
