Does it really work? Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir & Focus Care Youth + Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque

Does it really work? Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir & Focus Care Youth + Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque

I’ve struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember. Ever since my teenage years, I’ve been prone to hormonal breakouts and although they’ve gotten better over time, I still battle with pesky pimples at the age of 32!

My combination skin type means that I’m also prone to large pores (especially on my nose and on my chin), and as the years have passed, I’ve noticed some stubborn dark spots appearing – and these have proven to be even more difficult to treat than my breakouts! Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time reading up on the causes of pigmentation and how to treat it, and I’ve also invested in some serious skincare treatments, peels, and products to help rid my skin of these blemishes and breakouts… hopefully for good.

I’ve realised that treating pigmentation and an uneven skin tone is a long-term commitment, and that it’s really, really difficult (if not impossible) to get rid of dark spots completely. It requires a lot of time and patience, and it won’t happen overnight. This is why I was incredibly nervous to commit to taking these ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos to show just how effective Environ’s new Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir (R1 360) and Focus Care Youth+ Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque (R1 020) are. I trialled the products for a month, and I wasn’t sure that you’d be able to see any noticeable difference to the tone or texture of my skin… but I decided to go ahead and try anyway. What’s the worst that could happen? The products don’t deliver on what they’ve promised, and I go back to using the anti-pigmentation skincare products I was using before.

Since the end of September until the beginning of this month, I used nothing else on my skin except for Environ’s Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir, the Focus Care Youth + Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque, the deliciously nourishing Focus Care™ Moisture+ Hydrating Oil Capsules, and a plain and simple, fuss-free cleanser (not from Environ, but one I’ve used regularly in the past). That way, I could put Environ’s products through their paces without skewing the results, ensuring that any noticeable differences were truly down to these three products from Environ.

So did they work? Why don’t you judge for yourself?

My dark spots haven’t been completely eliminated, but I noticed a massive reduction in the appearance of dark spots on my cheeks, my forehead, and on my chin. The spots are much lighter than they were just a month ago, and the big patch on my right cheek (your left, first two images) is much less noticeable now. I’ve also noticed that my skin feels smoother to the touch, and it looks much more radiant overall. (And if you struggle with hormonal breakouts right before your period, try using the Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque in the days leading up to it – I found that my breakouts were drastically reduced while using this product).

The Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque boasts a revolutionary combination of 3 powerful ingredients that help to minimise the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation, while hydrating and plumping up the skin at the same time. In fact, it’s so good at firming up more mature skin that it’s been dubbed a ‘facelift in a jar’! I don’t have many wrinkles to speak of yet, but I did notice that the little lines around my eyes looked less pronounced.

The Revival Masque contains a bunch of acids to slough away dead skin cells, reduce uneven skin tone, and improve your skin’s overall texture, so it’s best to ease into using it slooooowly – especially if you’ve never used acids before, or if you have a more sensitive skin type.

If you’re worried that this may be too harsh for your skin, ask your local Environ skin specialist to help you pick out the right products for you. My skin is rather resilient after years of using AHAs on a regular basis, so I started off by introducing this masque into my routine every other evening.

I was immediately taken by the pump packaging, which is designed to ensure that the active ingredients don’t lose their potency over time and after being exposure to the air, as well as preventing contamination caused by dipping your fingers into the pot. Included in your pack, you’ll also find a luxurious masque brush, which really ups the game for me. There’s nothing that feels fancier than applying a face masque with a brush!

I noticed some tingling on my skin upon application, but it was hardly anything to write home about. After about 10 days of use (and roughly 5 applications), I started using the masque on a daily basis – even leaving it on overnight towards the end of my trial.

I also picked up a tip from my local Environ skin specialist, who suggested that I try mixing the masque with a few drops of the Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir as an intensive overnight treatment. This is still by far my favourite way to use this masque and elixir; my skin feels so soft and smooth – and looks ridiculously glowy – the next morning. Try it – it’s the bomb!

I’m still using Environ Focus Care Youth + Tri-Peptide Avance Elixir every day, despite the fact that my trial is officially over – it’s just that good. It has a very watery consistency, so I find that it’s perfect for use during the warmer summer months – no stickiness in sight! It’s also readily absorbed into the skin, and there’s been the odd night that I’ve gone to bed having forgotten to apply my usual moisturiser… it’s that hydrating.

This serum has been scientifically formulated with Mĕiritage, a unique blend of Chinese root extracts that have been proven to reduce the effects of oxidative stress (think UV rays, pollution, and stress), while reducing the appearance of dark spots and an uneven skin tone.

It also contains a potent combination of three peptide complexes that help to improve the overall structure of your skin – leaving your skin looking firmer, plumper, and more radiant with regular use.

I also received a sample of Environ’s deliciously nourishing Focus Care Moisture+ Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules, which boasts a concentrated burst of vitamin-enriched hydration that keeps your skin soft and supple while preventing the damaging effects of free radicals at the same time. These were just so divine to use – simply twist the end of the capsule to release the silky soft oil, before applying to your face and neck.

My skin slurped up every last bit of this hydrating oil, and I didn’t feel remotely like an oil-slick afterwards. (Better still, there was no greasy residue left on my pillowcase).

The sample contained 10 capsules, and I was so sad when I used the last capsule, that I promptly paid a visit to my nearest Environ stockist (find yours, here) to stock up on some more. If you have a younger, oilier skin type, these might not be for you – but my 30-something combination skin absolutely loves these beauties.

I had every intention of keeping this post short and sweet, but when it came down to it, I just couldn’t stop singing the praises of these three products! As I mentioned above, I really wasn’t expecting to see such a massive change in my skin in such a short period of time, but the results were incredible. All three products have earned a spot in my regular skincare routine, and I still use the Avance Elixir every morning (before applying my sunscreen), while the Revival Masque gets hauled out at least once or twice a week. I’ve also got my heavenly Hydrating Oil Capsules safely stored beside my bed for those nights when my skin needs a little extra TLC.

Are you interested in trying out these three products for yourself? I’ve partnered with Rubybox and Environ to give one reader the opportunity to win all three products, worth roughly R3000.
