Christmas Gift Guide 2018 | Something for everyone on your list

Christmas Gift Guide 2018 | Something for everyone on your list

Clicks is my go-to shop to find beautiful, affordable (and sometimes even practical) Christmas gifts for the whole family.

From fragrances and beauty products to toys for toddlers and gadgets for guys, there’s literally something for everyone on your shopping list! Not only do they have hundreds of gifts to choose from, but they make it even easier and more affordable to treat all your loved ones with their popular 3-for-2 deals.

Incidentally, these 3-for-2 deals aren’t exclusive to Christmas-time, but they sure as pope make Christmas shopping easier and more budget-friendly! Simply look out for items market with the purple pressie sticker – you can choose any combination of three gifts marked with this sticker, and you’ll get the cheapest one free!

Something else I really appreciate about shopping at Clicks – especially during the frantic festive season – is the fact that you can do so online, and that you can choose to have your items delivered straight to your door (orders over R450 receive free delivery) or collect your order from any Clicks store nationwide.

I wanted to show you some gorgeous gift ideas available at Clicks, as well as sharing exactly how much money you could potentially save when you take advantage of their 3-for-2 deals… read on for all the dirt!

Fragrances

Whether you’re looking for a luxurious designer fragrance, a celebrity scent, or a classic Christmas perfume gift set, Clicks has got you sorted! Here are some of my top picks from Clicks’ fragrance collection – these would be great gifts for your mom, your granny, your sister, your bestie… or even yourself!

Issey Miyake L’au D’Issey Gift Set (R1 130)

Issey Mikaye’s L’Eau D’Issey is an iconic fragrance that I’ve lusted after for years. I remember receiving a small 30ml travel-sized bottle in a gift set a few years ago, and ever since then, I’ve dreamed of adding this exquisite fragrance to my collection. Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey was extremely popular during the Nineties and early Noughties, so it’s ideal for your mom or your older sister – especially if they’re a fan of clean, minimalist scents (like DKNY’s original fragrance for women, or any of Calvin Klein’s scents).

Coach Floral Gift Set (R1 205)

Know someone who’s a sucker for a beautiful, floral scent and gorgeous packaging? This Coach Floral Gift Set is the perfect pressie! I am absolutely smitten with this white floral fragrance with just a touch of fruitiness to keep it young, fresh, and modern. It opens up with a burst of citrus with a hint of pink peppercorn and pineapple sorbet. It soon dies down to reveal smooth, elegant notes of creamy wood, patchouli and musky notes. So gorgeous – and made even better when layered over the body lotion.

Buy the Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Gift Set (R1 130) + Coach Floral Gift Set (R1 205) + you could get the Calvin Klein Euphoria Gift Set (R1 085) for FREE!

Revlon Unforgettable Gift Set (R335)

By far one of my most-purchased gifts throughout my life, Revlon’s gift sets are the perfect gifts for just about every woman in your family. We all need deodorant, and it’s lovely to have something that smells a little more luxe – and comes with a fragrance to boot! I also love the added gifts that Revlon offers – this rose gold watch in the Revlon Unforgettable gift set is reason enough to buy it.

For The Men In Your Life

I always struggle to buy gifts for the men in my life – and with four brothers, a dad, a Grandpa, two uncles, four nephews, two brothers-in-law, three nephews, a son, and a husband, there are many! As I’ve mentioned before, I do most of my Christmas shopping at Clicks and they always have a good selection to choose from, but they’ve completely knocked it out of the park this year.

The Body Shop Beard Care Kit (R320)

Most of the men in my family have some form of beard going on, so a beard oil or beard grooming kit seems like a great gift idea – especially since I’m usually the one who’s left in charge of their grooming routines (if it weren’t for me, I don’t think The Husband or two of my four brothers would moisturise, to be honest…). I adore this little beard grooming kit from The Body Shop – it contains a conditioning beard oil (which smells utterly divine), a pair of trimming scissors and a handy little beard comb, along with a unique Community Trade pocket square made from 100% recycled sari fabric.

Hubby doesn’t have a beard? No problem! The Body Shop Shave Away Gift Pack (with a Maca Root & Aloe Shave Cream and wooden shaving brush – R320 for the set) is ideal. It also includes a Community Trade pocket square – as does The Body Shop’s Activist Collection (R510), which comes complete with a fragranced body wash, roll on, and EDT in a distinctive, masculine scent that both you and your man will love!

Buy The Body Shop Activist Collection (R510) + The Body Shop Shave Away Gift Pack (R320) and you could get The Body Shop Beard Care Kit (R310) for FREE!

Clicks Gadgets & Goodies

From LED braai lights and torches, braai thermometers and tongs, and even a travel-sized 21-piece toolbox with a torch, Clicks has got a great lineup of handy (and affordable) gadgets for the braaimaster, chef, or avid camper in your life. I think these nifty little Braai Thermometers (R99 for a set of four) paired with a printed apron (R99) and an LED Braai Light (R249) would go down a treat! (Plus, you’ll get either the Braai Thermometers or the apron for free, if you buy all three. Score!)

Old Spice Gift Set (R255)

I always assumed that Old Spice was for old men, but Clicks sent me this Old Spice Gift Set and MAN! I am loving it! The scent is so much more modern and yummier than I remember it being – so much so, that I’ve opted to keep this one and gift it to The Husband! I like the wooden box that it comes in, and the super-cute Christmassy socks absolutely make this gift for me!

So often, stylish socks like these would set you back R250 for a single pair, so the fact that this set contains a shower gel, deodorant set, deodorant spray, aftershave and a pair of socks makes it really budget friendly.

What do you guys think? Is Old Spice making a comeback?

For The Beauty Obsessed

Clicks is easily the beauty destination of choice for most. I buy all my toiletries, most of my skincare products, and the majority of my makeup at Clicks – largely down to the large variety on offer. Another huge factor is my decision to shop at Clicks is the fact that using my Clicks Clubcard means that I get a huge chunk of money back every couple of months – which automatically means more makeup, of course!

If you know of anyone who’s as obsessed with beauty products and makeup as I am, you can bet that you’ll have your pick of the best beauty gifts on offer at Clicks. Here are a few quick picks to help you along…

The Body Shop

When in doubt, a tub of body butter or a luxe shower gel from The Body Shop always goes down a treat – regardless of who the recipient may be. I’m also a big fan of The Body Shop’s gift sets, which allow the receiver to try a variety of products – either all from one scent variation, or from a selection of scents (like The Festive Body Butter Trio, which includes a trio of body butters in three limited-edition festive scents for R190).

This goodies in the Festive Sack of Peppermint Candy Cane Delights (R310) all smell absolutely heavenly (the peppermint twist keeps things cool and fresh – perfect for our summery Christmases!) Given that the set contains a mini shower gel, a body scrub, a body butter, and a hand cream, I think this set is real value for money – and the travel sizes make them ideal for popping into your holiday toiletry bag.

Sorbet

Another brand that gets it right every single year is Sorbet. From the Sorbet Scrub Club VIP Body Wash Gift Box (R149) and the Sorbet Pamper Party Surprise Double Zip Vanity Bag Set (R249) to the Sorbet The Bomb Colour Bath Bombs (R59 for 5 bath bombs) and the Sorbet A Shining Career Gift Set (R199 – pictured below), there are so many great gift sets to choose from!

The Sorbet A Shining Career Gift Set contains a 2-in-1 Top & Base coat, Liquid Cuticle Guard and Mirror Powder so that you can recreate this season’s hottest mirrored mani from the comfort of your own home. (I plan on testing this kits for myself – who’s up for a ‘first impressions’ type video review? Let me know if you’re keen in the comments section!)

Accessories

Think lust-worthy makeup brush sets, hand makeup holders and vanity mirrors to makeup pouches, candles, diffusers, and more…. this cute little bling purse (R39,99 each – available in an assortment of styles) is especially handy for popping into stockings, or as a Secret Santa gift. Simply add a lip balm and sme chclate and you’re good to go!

Beauty tools and gadgets

Ok, girls – this is the part where you do some serious dropping of hints. You absolutely need the Remington Air Plates Compact Straighter (R749), which gives you the power to style literally every. single. strand of hair. It boasts the world’s first suspended plates, which adjust as you glide the plates through your hair – ensuring maximum contact on each strand for sleeker, smoother hair with just one stroke.

I thought this little gadget was pretty magical from the very first moment I laid eyes on it, but nothing could quite prepare me for just how fabulous it truly is. You seriously have to experience it for yourself.

Not a fan of stick-straight hair? This flat iron can create waves, too – just like most other flat irons. The difference? The suspended plates mean that the outer casing of the iron stays cooler, which helps to set you waves in place for longer. It truly is a magical little gadget! (This is the compact version, which means this flat iron is great for packing into your hand luggage).

Foodie Gifts

Not sure what gift to get your Grandpa, your dad, or your Secret Santa recipients? I’m a big fan of the old adage: when in doubt, go with chocolate!

I tend to buy my grandparents a box of Clicks’ D’Licious biccies every year, and I always pop a little choccie or two in Beanie’s Christmas stocking. My mom is a huge fan of Carrol Boyes, and since I can’t quite afford a beautiful Carrol Boyes dish or cutlery set just yet, I’m pretty chuffed that I can gift her with a box of these exquisite Carol Boyes Chocolate Collections (R99 per pack).

Once again, the Clicks 3-for-1 offer makes things really simple – you can tick off three gifts for three people and pay for just two! (Or buy two gifts and keep the third box of chocolate for yourself – you deserve it!)

Spot any gifts you like? You’ll find all these and more at your nearest Clicks store (or online, here) – remember to look out for the purples stickers to take full advantage of Clicks’ 3-for-2 offer. Valid until 24 December 2018.

Until then, I’d love to know: have you managed to finish all your Christmas shopping yet?
