June is literally just around the corner, and it feels like the first half of 2019 has whizzed by without making any real progress on the goals and resolutions I set out to achieve at the beginning of the year.
There’s still so much I want to do – like finally build my perfect capsule wardrobe, put together an eCourse or eBook of some sort, and actually get my act together and buy soap supplies so I can start making my own natural, vegan-friendly soap! That said, there’s a lot that I have achieved this year, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I’ve got my daily habit trackers to thank for this.
I’ve been tracking my goals and habits for almost five years now, since I first started developing an interest in bullet journaling back in 2014. I track everything, from my water consumption, my daily stroll around the neighborhood, and folding (and packing away) laundry, to doing a face mask, making my bed, and posting to Instagram. I track all of these habits on one page in my bullet journal, but when it comes to tracking small action steps towards bigger goals (like blogging every day for a month, doing yoga every day for 100 days, or doing a ‘no spend’ month) I’ve found that sticking a printable goal tracker above my desk where I can see it at all times has worked so well. I did this back in January when I did Yoga With Adriene’s 30-day yoga challenge, and again in March when my goal was to meditate every day for a month.
At first, I used a hand-drawn sheet that I tore out of my notebook and stuck up on my wall, but after a couple of weeks, I decided to design a printable goal tracker that I could print out whenever the urge to start working towards a new goal overtook me. After a good few months of using this printable goal tracker myself, I thought that it might be handy to share this with you… so go ahead and download the printable goal tracker below, then use the start of a fresh, new month as the opportunity to work towards that goal you’ve been thinking and dreaming about for months.
So, what will you do?
In case you’re running short of a few ideas to track on your printable goal tracker, here are some that are top-of-mind for me…
- drink 1.5 litres of water every day
- wash your face before bed every. single. night
- do yoga every day for a month
- meditate every day for a month
- set aside R50 towards your savings every day
- make your own lunch to take to work
- go for a walk every evening after work
- go to bed at 10:30pm every night
- wake up at 5am every morning
- write morning pages first thing every day for 30 days
- blog or vlog every day for a month
Choose your goal, then commit to working on it every single day for the rest of this year. And if you miss a day? Let it go. No one’s perfect, and tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to start afresh.
This isn’t an exercise in being even harder on yourself, but is rather a way to keep yourself accountable and to encourage you to take small, daily steps towards reaching your goal. The aim is progress – not perfection!
I’d love to know what your goals for the remainder of 2019 are, so go ahead and share them with me in the comments below. And if you do end up downloading and using my printable goal tracker, I’d love to see how you’re using it to make your dreams come true, so please do tag me in your pics over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
