Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque is an overnight success!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque is an overnight success!

I’ve tried a number of overnight masks that promise to plump up, nourish, and firm up your skin while you sleep, and to be honest, I’ve become a bit apathetic when it comes to this category of skincare.

In my experience, not many live up to their claims – except for Sisley’s iconic Black Rose Cream Mask, that is! Sure, they provide a dose of moisture, but that’s nothing that a rich night cream can’t do!

As a long-time fan of the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial range, I was super-excited to learn that Kiehl’s was launching an Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque – but I’ll be honest: I wasn’t expecting much. Like so many other overnight masques, I was expecting a glorified night cream, but given that I’m a fan of the Ultra Facial range all the same, I would’ve been happy with that. Nothing could’ve prepared me for what I was about to experience!

You’d expect a rich, creamy consistency, but the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque boasts more of a gel texture. You only need to apply a teeny-tiny amount, and I found that most of the product was still there the following morning. It does leave a bit of a tacky residue on the skin, so if that sort of thing bothers you, you might not enjoy this masque (Kiehl’s is usually pretty good about offering samples, so perhaps see if you can get a sample to try out first if this sort of thing does bug you?)

This really didn’t bother me, however – especially since the results really spoke for themselves! I have a frown line that’s etched itself across my forehead on a permanent basis, but one of the first things I noticed after just one use of this masque is that said frown line was considerably less noticeable. My skin was plumped up and felt a whole lot less dehydrated, and it looked more glow-y to boot.

I’ve also found that, despite using this masque at least two or three times a week (it’s a winter skin saviour!), I’ve hardly made a dent! It makes the R550 price tag well worth it – I’m pretty sure you could get well over 100 applications out of this very generous tub.

So if you battle with dry skin or you overindulge in bad habits that result in dehydration (read: one too many glasses of bubbly, copious cups of coffee every day, or smoking), you’re definitely going to want to get your hands on Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque.
