A glow-inducing skincare routine using Filorga

My skin went through a bit of rough patch right at the start of lockdown (way back in March – can you believe we’re in August already?) Breakouts, dullness, and a few new lines, thanks to the stress and overwhelm of an uncertain future, minimal sleep, and over-indulgence (banana bread, anyone?)

Like so many others on my social media feeds, I used the opportunity to declutter my home, starting with my beauty cupboards. It was then that I stumbled upon products from the Filorga Oxygen-Glow range, which I’d set aside for a time just like this.

The product line itself was developed as a “super-perfecting radiance range for perfect, no-filter skin,” which sounds like a dream come true and was enough to get me to ditch all the products I was using at the time in favour of these. There were also a few other Filorga products that I’d set aside to review, so I included these in my new skincare line up, too.

Easily one of my favourite products from the entire range is the Filorga Oxygen-Glow Super-Perfecting Express Mask (R610). As the name suggests, this mask works quickly and effectively to give your skin a beautiful, healthy glow. It contains ingredients that exfoliate your skin, removing the top layer of dead skin cells for an at-home peel effect. Simply slather a generous amount onto your skin 2 or 3 times a week (for 10 minutes at a time) for a radiant complexion in a flash!

The Filorga Oxygen-Glow Super-Perfecting Radiance Cream (R725) is a real treat to use, and the effects are immediate. As soon as I smooth this glorious moisturiser onto my skin, it seems to plump and perk it up. The plumping effect is as a result of the high concentration of hyaluronic acid contained in the cream, while L-enzyme instantly brightens the complexion for a lit-from-within-glow.

I have a normal to combination skin type and I find that this moisturiser is ideal for for my skin – it sits well underneath my foundation and gives my skin a slight matte finish, but with a healthy sheen. It provides enough hydration for my specific skin type, but if you have a drier skin, you might want to try something a little more hydrating.

And that’s where Filorga Time-Filler Night (R925) comes in…

I’ve been using this luxurious moisturiser most nights and love the way my skin looks and feels the next morning. It contains a Botox-like tri-peptide that’s said to reduce the appearance of all types of wrinkles – including surface wrinkles, contraction wrinkles, dehydration lines, and deep-set wrinkles. It also helps to reduce overnight puffiness and those unsightly pillow lines (something that only becomes a thing as you approach your mid-30s, I’ve discovered…)

This nourishing night cream is formulated for more mature skin types, but even I’ve noticed a huge difference to the overall appearance of my skin. Fine lines caused by dehydration are diminished, and my skin looks more radiant and ‘awake’, if that makes sense?

Last – but definitely not least – I simply can’t hit ‘publish’ on this post without mentioning my beloved Filorga Optim-Eyes Refresh Express Revitalizing Eye Contour Stick (R430). I’ve been using this super-refreshing, triple-action eye contour stick since the beginning of lockdown and I am hooked for life!

First thing’s first: the incredibly soothing and instant cooling effect that this eye contour stick boasts is heaven-sent for tired eyes that are subject to late nights and endless screen time. (Quick pause while I give my eyes a little dose of cool as I type this…) This beauty contains hyaluronic acid to plump up fine lines around your delicate eye area, along with a dose of carrageenan gel, a marine extract that acts as a decongestant to help minimise puffiness. It also contains micro powders to help enhance the radiance under the eye area for instantly brighter peepers in a flash!

I like to keep mine in the fridge for an even more intense cooling effect and I apply it every morning before starting my makeup routine. I really like that it can be applied over my makeup too, and I often find myself reaching for it for a soothing refresh during the day – particularly after a sleepless night or when on a writing deadline.

Filorga is one of those skincare ranges that really delivers on results. Most of their products are formulated for more mature skin types (40+), but the Oxygen-Glow range in particular is great for women in their late 20s and early 30s and is a great introduction to the brand.
